‘Les Misérables’ Blu-ray Screen Caps

I have added over 1,750 HQ Blu-ray screen caps of Hugh Jackman in Les Misérables. In it, he portrayed the lead character, Jean Valjean, so there were tons of opportunities to cap him throughout the long film. The images are very, very high-quality, so I hope you all enjoy.

85th Annual Academy Awards

This evening (February 24th), Hugh Jackman attended the 85th annual Academy Awards, where he was nominated for his first Oscar. Unfortunately, he didn’t win (although who could compete with Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln?), but there are plenty of pictures of him looking gorgeous throughout the evening. There are a couple of red carpet interviews which you can watch below:

Hugh and the Les Misérables cast – including Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen – all joined together onstage to sing as a group for the first time. As part of a musical medley (celebrating Chicago, Dreamgirls, and Les Mis), the cast performed a truncated version of “One Day More.” Hugh opened up the set by singing a little of “Suddenly,” the original song written for the film. ‘Les Misérables’ Cast Rehearse for Oscars Performance

The cast of Les Misérables has been spending time at the Dolby Theater to rehearse their performance at the Academy Awards. Reports have come out that Hugh Jackman will join his co-stars Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen to sing as a group – for the first time! – on Oscar Sunday.

A special medley is being planned, with Anne singing “I Dreamed a Dream” solo, Hugh tackling the new and nominated song “Suddenly,” and the entire cast – including Les Mis performers from the West End, Hollywood Bowl, and U.S. tour productions – to wow the audience with “One Day More.” Some pictures from yesterday’s rehearsal have been added to the gallery, with additional details from the day below:

“This is the first time the cast has actually performed onstage together. Ever. It’s fantastic,” Neil Meron, who is producing the show with Craig Zadan, told USA TODAY in between lengthy rehearsals. “That’s what the Oscars are all about. To have these sort of events. Not just the reunion of the cast, but singing together like this for the first time is very, very significant.”

And there will be no lip syncing. Just like the best-picture-nominated movie, the cast is singing live. “It really gives credence to the live singing in the movie to see them actually do it live onstage,” Meron said.

At times it was like a stage production with Hathaway wandering the stage singing seeming nonsensical voice exercises and Jackman keeping an ever-present cup of tea in his hand for his throat.

But there was time for laughter. Crowe was particularly playful, posing for a goofy picture onstage with Hathaway and pulling aside Jackman for conspiratorial whispers from which they both came away laughing. And when called to test out his microphone, Baron Cohen, a flat cap pulled over his head, began to sing the Barbra Streisand song, “I’m Just a Woman in Love.”

“The Late Show with David Letterman” (Feb. 2013)

Did you miss Hugh Jackman from his February 20th appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman”? He showed up in costume as Abraham Lincoln – complete with beard and top hat – to gently tease his fellow Oscar nominee, Daniel Day-Lewis. Letterman also asked about Oscar, prompting Hugh to share his Mt. Fuji story with a few extra details added from the last time. If you click on the above image, you’ll be taken to the full episode; however, if you want to skip to Hugh’s segment, jump to the 18:40 mark.

Jean Valjean Will Be “a Hard One to Leave,” says Hugh

ABC News has posted a new article on Hugh Jackman, in which he talks a bit about being a first-time Academy Award nominee (and whether he prefers that to hosting the prestigious ceremony). He also says that he “really love[d] playing” Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, and that the character will be “a hard one to leave.” Check out an excerpt below before heading to the source for more.

This year, [Hugh] Jackman is an Academy Awards nominee, but he has hosted the event.

“I love the Oscars,” he said. “I’ve always loved it from a kid. Hosting it, I loved it. I love somehow the pageantry of it. I love the, you know, the spontaneity of it and the show of it. I really enjoy it. So the great thing about being a nominee is that you get a pretty good seat, I am figuring… if I’m up in the mezzanine, there’s a very good chance I won’t be winning.”

Asked what advice he’d give to this year’s host, Seth McFarlane, Jackman replied: “I’ve got to be honest with you. Having hosted the Oscars, being a nominee? Walk in the park.”

Jackman has been married to actress Deborra-Lee Furness for 16 years, and they have two children. Family is a priority for Jackman, and he said he learned that from his own father, whom he called “the closest living example I know to Jean Valjean.”

“The one thing he constantly reminds me about – enjoy the celebration, and all of that – but at the end of the day, make sure your family are okay. Make sure the people around you are okay. And just make sure you are doing the right thing inside,” Jackman said, speaking of his father’s advice.

“Inside the Actors Studio” (Feb. 2013)

Hugh Jackman was on a new episode of James Lipton’s series, “Inside the Actors Studio,” where he interviews guests about their careers and the craft of acting. Because Hugh has been on the show before, he and Lipton continued where they left off, discussing The Prestige, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, and extensively exploring all things Les Misérables. There were some great stories strewn throughout, and the Bernard Pivot questionnaire at the end featured very different answers than last time.

Although there’s no video of the episode online (yet), check out some extra footage from Bravo’s website below. There are also previews from the episode here, in case you missed them.
