First ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Trailer

New ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Film Still

Empire has just debuted several new film stills for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Only one featured Hugh Jackman, but it’s a great shot: him lounging as Wolverine – shirtless, no less – with a chest full of bullet holes. Check out the source for more stills, including looks at Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and director Bryan Singer.

The first trailer for the film drops on Tuesday, October 29th. Until then, enjoy a six-second teaser on Instagram.

‘The Wolverine’ Beijing Press Conference

To finish off the press tour for The Wolverine, Hugh Jackman headed to one final destination: Beijing, China. On October 14th, he attended a press conference for the James Mangold-directed film and was interviewed in a solo panel with press on hand. You can check out the 20-minute video below, which is not dubbed over, so English-speaking fans might find it of interest. He, of course, talks about the film, including nice insight on (im)mortality — and how his mortality makes playing Wolverine pretty difficult.

2013 Zurich Film Festival ‘Prisoners’ Press Conference

Hugh Jackman the jet-setter arrived in Zurich, Switzerland earlier today (September 28th) for the 2013 Zurich Film Festival. His first business was the Prisoners press conference, which also welcomed director Denis Villeneuve, producer Kira Davis, and co-star Melissa Leo (who is serving as a juror at the festival). You can watch video of the panel below, which is entirely in English. Hugh talks about the weight of playing Keller Dover and even brings up a fanciful fact: that he literally wouldn’t exist without Switzerland, as it’s where his parents met when his mom was just 19-years-old.

61st San Sebastian Film Festival Donostia Award

Hugh Jackman was awarded the prestigious Donostia Award at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival, the 61st annual celebration of film in Spain. From Gregory Peck to Robert DeNiro, the Donostia has been given to many remarkable actors throughout the year; a significant fact that Hugh humbly mentioned in his acceptance speech. Check out the video below of the award segment – which was just prior to a Prisoners screening. There’s a great retrospective of Hugh’s career, with emphasis on The Prestige, Les Misérables, and his latest work in Prisoners.

61st San Sebastian Film Festival ‘Prisoners’ Press Conference

Following the frenzy of the Prisoners photo call in San Sebastian, Spain, Hugh Jackman took part in a press conference for the film. Like the earlier event, he was again joined with director Denis Villeneuve and producer Kira Davis to talk about Prisoners. You can find the full video of the 42-minute panel below; however – sorry, English-speakers! – it is dubbed over in Spanish.

“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (Sept. 2013)

Hugh Jackman appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night to promote his new film, Prisoners (which is now in theaters). You can watch the video below (or visit the site; he comes in just after the second commercial break. Talking about his tough guy persona, Hugh recalled a time when he was involved in a fight — in rollerblades. Be sure to tune in after they go to commercial, as he and Jimmy do a hilarious skit while arm wrestling. Hugh drops some lines you never thought you’d hear him say.

“Katie” (Sept. 2013)

Although I don’t have an entire video of the appearance, the entire cast of Prisoners was on “Katie” today to talk about the film. (You can check out numerous videos below.) There’s a lot of serious discussion on the subject matter of the film – especially because so many are mothers and fathers – but the interview is especially worth checking out for the cast members’ camaraderie and chemistry. Plus, find out which of the cast is voted Biggest Clown and Most Likely to Eat at the Crafts Service Table. Hugh Jackman appears in all the videos.

Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal Unguarded in ‘Prisoners’

What is about to unfold, over steaming cups of tea on a recent Thursday evening, can only be described as an epic bromance between two very chiseled leading men.

“I hope this doesn’t come across as too much of a fluff piece with two actors who really, really loved working with one another,” Jake Gyllenhaal says with a sigh, a bit chagrined after spending an hour extolling the numerous virtues of Hugh Jackman.

The two geek out when they’re together, their conversation ranging from stupid paparazzi encounters in Manhattan to the times they watched ESPN in Gyllenhaal’s Prisoners trailer during filming. The two instantly bonded, and Jackman gives much of the credit to his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.

“She has a lot of qualities of Jake, actually. When the two of them got together, Deb’s like, ‘I like him, he reminds me of me. He’s awesome,'” announces Jackman, grinning wickedly. “What comes into their heads comes out. They are idealistic, big dreamers, quite romantic. Both have a wicked sense of humor, very naughty. Don’t tell them what to do.”

He turns to Gyllenhaal, who looks almost teary-eyed. “You’ll tell me the (expletive) things about yourself, which most people want to hide about themselves, especially movie stars. Deb and I have been fans of Jake since October Sky — we’ve always thought that this kid is unbelievable.”

“The TODAY Show” (Sept. 2013)

Earlier today (September 18th), Hugh Jackman appeared on “The TODAY Show” to talk about Prisoners. Paired up with Matt Lauer, he spoke of the research entailed to make Keller Dover a believable character. Hugh was also challenged by Matt to take over hosting duties for a day, allowing him to fulfill his lifelong dream of being a morning talk show host. Although it’s short, I also recommend checking out this video, in which Hugh pops in to say hello to the “TODAY” panel.
