Hugh Jackman at Audi Forum Dallas Gives Advice to Oscar Hosts, Hathaway and Franco

Hugh Jackman spoke to Cristina Gibson at E! Online yesterday, where he gave advice to this year’s Oscar hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Jackman was attending the Super Bowl ’11 celebration hosted by Audi at the Audi Forum Dallas. Here’s what he had to say:

“It’s a long show. I actually took out cookies during one of the commercial breaks because I had a note from my wife saying ‘You’re doing a great job’ and I was really hungry. So we had some cookies and I got mobbed! You’ve never seen anything like it. All these A-list actors just mobbing for me chocolate chip cookies.”

And while Hugh definitely urges James and Anne to eat something, how about having a few drinks before they take the stage?

“Maybe near the end, but it’s too long,” Hugh said, “I wouldn’t know how to negotiate that!”

The Aussie actor (who attended the Audi bash sans wife Deborra-Lee Furness) also says remember to keep the show moving, especially as celebs start turning into sore losers.

“The first 45 minutes…you just have fun. Go out there and have a great time,” he urged, “The last three or four hours, just move it! Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd. Once the awards start getting out, people start leaving, people start losing. Then it becomes a different atmosphere.”

Fox Reunites Hugh Jackman with Shawn Levy

According to Deadline, Hugh Jackman will be working with Real Steel director Shawn Levy in the near future. 20th Century Fox has recently accepted an action-adventure pitch made by Lost show runner and producer, Carlton Cuse. It will be Cuse’s first foray into film scriptwriting since the popular television drama’s end, although he has done uncredited writing for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and on to Lethal Weapons sequels in the past. The untitled project will be produced by Levi’s company, 21 Laps Entertainment.

‘The Wolverine’ Will Be ‘Best Of The Bunch,’ Hugh Jackman Says

Geoff Boucher of the Los Angeles Times got Hugh Jackman on the phone yesterday to speak about upcoming projects. Hugh stated that he’s bulking up even more for his upcoming revival of Wolverine in the latest installment of the X-Men film franchise. (He’s consuming up to 6,000 calories a day!) Check out the interview below:

Geoff Boucher: I remember coming by your office back in the summer of 2009, and you were already talking about your hopes of making a movie out of Marvel’s 1982 ”Wolverine” miniseries, the classic by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. And now you’re doing just that — and with director Darren Aronofsky, of all people. You must be thrilled.

Hugh Jackman: I’m really, really pumped about it. I feel like all the planets are finally aligned to make a great movie. We finally have the character and with this mythology — ever since [the 2000 Bryan Singer film] “X-Men,” when I was kind of hanging around and reading all these comics, because I was cast before I ever read any X-Men comics, so I was trying to get my hands on everything. I remember saying to [producer] Lauren Shuler Donner, “Lauren, I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen this Japanese story, and I think it’s so good. It’s just genius, it’s brilliant.” And we kind of always talked about it from there on. I sort of even wanted to do that in the third X-Men movie at first, but we thought, no, we really need to establish who he is at first, and we did that [with “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”], and now this is sort of the cherry on top, to finally do it and have Darren Aronofsky direct it. I love his gung-ho attitude toward it and great vision. Straight off, it’s not a sequel, it’s a stand-alone, and I think we’re going to make one that people will describe as the best of the bunch.
