Hugh Jackman to be a ‘Guardian of Childhood’

According to Collider, Hugh Jackman has been cast in DreamWork Animation’s upcoming film, The Guardians of Childhood. He will voice Bunnymund, the Easter Bunny. The star-studded cast is rounded out by Alec Baldwin (Santa Claus), Chris Pine (Jack Frost), Isla Fisher (Tooth, The Tooth Fairy), and Jude Law (Pitch). Based on an upcoming series of books by William Joyce, Guardians will follow various childhood staples.

A summary provided by Variety is below:

When Pitch (Law), an evil spirit akin to the Boogeyman, lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.

Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire has adapted the book series into the screenplay. Joyce will co-direct the film with Peter Ramsey and Guillermo del Toro is set to executive produce the project. The film sounds huge and ambitious, with plenty of power-houses involved. I personally can’t wait to see it!
