Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, attended the annual Winter Antiques Show on January 20th. The 57-year-old event was held at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City and served as a charity function. All money generated from purchases of antiques benefited the East Side House Settlement, a foundation which strives to help poverty-stricken South Bronx residents.

According to IndieWire, Hugh Jackman has allegedly been offered a role in the upcoming Guillermo del Toro adaptation of “At the Mountains of Madness,” by H. P. Lovecraft. There are a lot of casting rumors floating around this particular project – including both Tom Cruise and James McAvoy being offered parts – and nothing is yet set in stone.
Deadline also says that Cruise is attached to Guillermo del Toro‘s “At the Mountains of Madness,” but we checked with Cruise’s reps and while that might happen eventually too, currently he’s not officially on board that picture either. In fact, everyone seems to be mulling their options there as James McAvoy was offered a role (the same one as Cruise apparently) and neither has decided yet. Perhaps it’s a matter of schedules, because surely everyone wants to work with del Toro and producer James Cameron on that picture. Offers are also allegedly out to Ron Perlman and Hugh Jackman, but again these are just offers. Anyway, del Toro has basically already said his lucky charm Ron Perlman will be on board somewhere—apparently as Ian Larsen) and production sources in Toronto tell us “At the Mountains of Madness” is scheduled to shoot there in the summer.
Sounds like Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness might be returning back to Australia. According to Splash News, their children – Oscar and Ava – have asked to return back to the land down under. Reports are saying that Hugh has already started house-hunting in Mount Eliza, a Mornington Peninsula suburb in Melbourne. Below is an excerpt from a recent news article:
A friend of the family told Women’s Day magazine, “They want a good environment for the children and to be close to family and friends. They are a lovely couple with family in Melbourne. Education for their children is another reason they are looking at places there.”
Late last year, Furness admitted, “Do you know what my kids want for Christmas? To convince mum and dad to live in Melbourne.”
